SureTrak was designed with features that practicing project managers need, not glitzy fluff. Although the two previous reviewers have made strong cases for SureTrak there are a few details that I'd like to add.
(1) Multiple calendars - you can have up to 31 base calanders per project, giving you absolute control that is not possible with other PM applications in this price range. This feature allows you to model different resource baselines, which is powerful. Also, unlike MS Project, SureTrak does not assume it knows better than you and change the project in strange and mysterious ways after you've made an adjustment. This alone makes SureTrak worth using.
(2) Earned Value project management is built in and works correctly. If you're a PMP you'll not only appreciate the solid implementation of earned value, but should also know that the earned value portions of the PMBOK were developed by members of the Primavera team--Quentin Fleming and Joel Koppelman--who also authored Earned Value Project Management, second edition. This adds a high level of trust in the way SureTrak works.
(3) Project resource leveling works (it's somewhat 'challenged' in MS Project), and the ability to automatically forecast resource shortages, trace PERT logic, use precedence diagramming method if you so choose, and the ability to jump from WBS, resource, activity or PERT views with a mouse click shows your project from any perspective. Another nice feature is the 'cosmic' view of the PERT view that shows the entire network in one window and details in another.
(4) The reports, profiling and analysis options are too many to list. Suffice it to say that if there is a view or report that isn't shipped with SureTrak (and I cannot think of any), you can easily create one.
Although it has serious features, it also has glitz: publish in HTML, add graphics to your schedule and customize bar legends. It also has team features, such as email management, the ability to manage multiple related projects simultaneously, and the ability to exchange files with MS Project via MPX files. Note that there are some losses when you exchange MPX files because SureTrak has features that Project doesn't have and they will not import correctly into MS Project.
If you make the leap from MS Project to SureTrak I strongly recommend investing in Planning Using Primavera SureTrak Project Manager Version 3.0 by Paul E. Harris, which will get you quickly started.

Alice Greenfingers Alice Greenfingers is truly a "casual" game.
Alice has to whip her farm into shape in order to win trophy's. You can plant roses, tulips, corn, wheat, strawberrys and much more. You can set your farm up like you wish. Move objects around. You may purchase a multiplicity of seeds, extra water pumps, bigger watering cans and even purchse cows, chickens, roosters and more. It's very fun to play.
The only cons are: there is not enough variety in seeds, animals, and impliments to purchase although Alice Greenfingers 2 Alice Greenfingers 2 [Game Download] takes care of that!

I have just learned that there is - for all practical purposes -no technical support for this over-priced software.
I have used OmniForm since its initial version, and it has improved with each permutation. Improvements could be made, but it does what it says it will do fairly well. It should... for the price of this software, which keeps climbing.
When I experienced a problem with a vital database, I looked for support, and learned that I have only a one-time opportunity to receive free support on this software that costs close to $700.00. Since I had not used my available support, I called tech support, had difficulty being understood, and was told that the problem would be passed on to Research. Research eventually responded with input from two techs (the same solution) - containing suggestions that had already been employed, and inviting me to contact them if I need further support. There is no way to reach them directly. Access to their support is through a trouble page.
I have submitted two further requests for help that have been ignored so far (this is 14 days after the original contact.) I have offered to send my database to see if they can extract the information, and I let them know that I was facing a county audit of the information locked in the database.
I have since discovered, on Scansoft's online "community" that the problem I experienced was being reported in v. 4.0, so it is not unknown. The people I contacted echoed my complaint about the lack of service and assistance.
I am told that there is a Developer's version that might open the database, for only $1495.00. If that is so, and if Scansoft doesn't choose to use that product to open the database, I find it unconscionable.
BTW, this file was backed up twice, but the error didn't show up until the file was reopened and all files were corrupted.

This was a new install rather than an upgrade, so I came in without preconceived notions. First impression, fairly intuitive and nicely integrated with banking and basic inventory systems. The HUGE drawback is that it is amazingly rigid! You cannot, for example, change the billing terms on an invoice! Hope your terms are the same as one of the 5 options Microsoft gives you, otherwise you're out of luck. More examples: invoices do not reflect partial payments; you cannot change shipping methods beyond the options they give you (Has Microsoft ever heard of customer pickup?); and you are very limited in your decisions about what information can and cannot be included on correspondence. Setting up inventory system is also tedious as you can't duplicate and edit similar items. Lastly, as the previous reviewer mentioned, tech support is worthless. It's an overseas support line and while the operators are polite and speak English well, all they do is enter search criteria into the help dialog and try to find the answer for you! Literally no more helpful than if you were to do it yourself. Bottom line - probably would have been a great package if it was released in 1998, but of course, 5 years of progress is tough ignore.

Being a college student on the go, a notebook computer is essential to my academic success. I have been fortunate enough to be a Beta Tester for Microsoft OneNote, and this program is amazing. Designed for Tablet PCs, it still works great on my Desktop and Notebook.
I am capable of typing all my notes as the professor lectures. Many students enjoy paper and pen due to the ability to draw and sketch as needed. OneNote allows you to use mouse or touch pad to enter charts, graphs, or sketches right into the notes. Notes are easy to print, save, share, and sort with OneNote.
In the past I always wrote my notes and had to try to pay attention to the professor, read the overheads, and write straight and legibly so I could read the notes for later. I always had to try and read three different things at a time. Now, I can just type away while looking at the professor and overheads allowing me to pay better attention to the professor.
Why is this better than Word? Because it is designed with the power of Word, but with all the easy to access tools needed for Note taking. Colored Pens tools, fonts, bullets, outlines, all easily accessible from the Menus.
While I love my Notebook computer, I love it even more with OneNote!

Money 2003 was an awesome product and I dropped Quicken after 6 years to use it. But the latest version that incorporates business forms and accounts should have remained in beta.
This is a flawed product that is a step back from previous versions. The conversion from earlier versions of Money can cause file corruption problems. The product has a feature to import contacts from Outlook but it is "buggy" and causes problems. When I called MS tech support the support rep said do not use it. They claim you can share you information with other MS passport Users but it does not work. After two hours on the phone with MS they finally admitted it was a flaw. As the other review says, the invoice feature is a joke. You spend time customizing your invoices and then when you go to save them all images and formatting are taken out and only a text file is saved. There is no PDF capability. And you can not e-mail your newly designed invoice as it also creates a "bland" text file.
When i called Microsoft, American Express and Wells Fargo Tech support ( all support product) all support technicians said they hear nothing but problems with this product.
Money 2003 and 2004 were great. What a let down 2005 Small Business is. Stick to Quicken and Quick books and save your self hours on toll calls to tech support that results in no known fixes and no information in the MS Knowledge base.
