(More customer reviews)For me this program was a nightmare to download using the SmartDownload AppStream that Broderbund requires you to use. Slow, slow even though I usually download large programs in a flash with my cable connection.
Unbelievably, this AppStream download program does not go away after the download. If my computer runs, it runs. To even open the Printmaster Gold 17 program, you must go through an AppStream internet login process, and the login screen doesn't even remember your ID and password. You must retype these every time---grrrr. You must stay on the internet throughout the program, and when you finish, Printmaster will close, but on my cable connection, AppStream never does.
It seems that most of the Printmaster's images "live" on the internet, so if you want to browse a collection, it takes a bit of time as each item downloads. It makes scrolling through the collection a bit slow. And I suppose it might be really irritating if you have a slow connection.
There are lots of opportunities to create your cards from scratch, putting together from their selection of backgrounds, frames,digital photos, etc., and that's what I do most of the time.
The cards print out beautifully on the glossy greeting card stock that I use. There is a professional quality to these, and I only print on the standard setting of ink.
My recommendation to Broderbund: (1) The user needs to be able to run the full Printmaster program without the internet, and then connect to the internet by choice if needed. (2) Get rid of AppStream entirely.
I originally rated this program with One Star, but this is my revised review, and I would give the program Three Stars now. Amazon will let me edit the content of my review, but I couldn't edit the Star evaluation, so I put Three Stars in the title line.
