Nero Move It Review

I bought this some time ago, installed it, found it difficult to use and set it aside for a few months. Came across it the other day and decided to give it another try. One word suffices to describe every aspect of this product: awful.
When reinstalling it, the installer warned me that I had exceeded the number of installs allowed. Excuse me? This was the second time I installed it on the same machine. Fortunately, Nero allows you to tell its guardian that it is a reinstall. Why isn't the software intelligent enough to recognize that it is being installed on the same machine?
Next, I learned something I should have spotted before I purchased this product: it only works with certain devices. Nero claims that Move It will recognize your device automatically and set everything up for transfers, making it oh so simple for the end user. Nero claims to support 150 devices. You cannot actually add a device unsupported by Nero. Well, look at the list of devices Nero support: it reads like a roster of dead technology, of devices that have gone to the great beyond.
Do you have a Nokia N800, a two year old device? Not recognized by Nero. How about the year old HP Ipaq 211? Not recognized by Nero. Or let's take the Sansa View, which has exactly the same requirements as the SanDisk Sansa Fuze, which is recognized. Well, the view - despite its identical requirements - is not recognized.
Allegedly you can create parameters for an unlisted device, but try as I might, I could not do it. I did find one way of dealing with transferring to other devices not on Nero's list of museum pieces if they have removable SD, microSDHC or CF cards. You can set the user settings to recognize those devices, though the process is somewhat convoluted. Not that it will necessarily do you a lot of good. Nero Move It's video formats are quite restrictive and won't work with devices like the Nokia N800.
The approach Nero has taken is just plain dumb. Making it difficult, if not impossible, to define devices not on Nero's list of antiques (for the most) part is beyond dumb.
I've used Nero itself for a long time. I've skipped upgrading it because of the many poor reviews to be found on Amazon.
Nero Move It, judging from the number of Amazon reviews, is selling poorly - and frankly I can understand why: it is just plain awful. If I were given to such things, there are a couple of four-letter words I could use to accurately describe this product.
Lots of other alternatives out there: I suggest you use them.

I just spoke with Intuit sales (Intuit doesn't provide customer support anymore without a service contract); according to Intuit--Amazon, which sells the Premier version of Quickbooks 2009 for about $120 less than Intuit, will be upgraded for free to the new 2010 Quickbooks premier edition because it falls within the "migration period" which is product sold after August 11, 2009. But they will not provide free customer support for this new Amazon product without receiving $79 for the first month and an additional monthly $39 fee. They graciously offer a year of customer support for $249. They claim support is free to get the product installed, but no functionality is supported. Support comes from the Philippines and India.
Is it time for another Boston Tea Party, but this time with boxes marked "Intuit"?

I am quite impressed with 'Collectify'. I use it mainly to inventory the works of art I have in three homes. It is highly professional and allows one to enter just about ALL data pertaining to a given work of art, and link the data (for example link an artist to the works by him in my collection).
Even though it is so very complete and professional it is quite easy to use.
(As with all software products, there are some things that one must get used to.)
It supports unlimited databases, meaning that one can catalogue books, art, watches, model trains - whatever comes to mind.
I can only recommend the product, but must note that it goes into a high level of detail for any and all objects and may therefore be better suited for the serious collector. For others, I would recommend that they try the 'home edition'.

I had wrestled - and painfully I might add - creating organizational charts in PowerPoint. I was searching for a better tool when I came upon OrgChart by OfficeWork software. This software has been fantastic. OrgChart Pro v5 enabled me to create my company's org charts in about half an hour - whereas I previously spent at least half a day using PowerPoint.

OrgChart gives the ability to add custom data fields and format the chart's appearance. The calculations for headcount were very easy to use, and because they were automatic that, too, saved me a lot of time. Publishing to PowerPoint was very fast, and everyone has given great feedback. Best of all the changes and updates to the org charts have been very easy to make - which has saved many hours of frustration. I am very, very pleased with this product.

I've been a Docs To Go user since version #4, and it's a program I wouldn't want to live without. I recently upgraded to the Palm Tungsten T-3, and Docs To Go #6 Premium looks great on the high resolution color screen - especially when viewed on the wider horizontal format when my T-3's slide-out cover is fully extended.
I originally didn't buy the Premium Edition of Docs To Go #6, but I upgraded as soon as I learned that it had two new features - both of which I had always longed to have!
The first is SECURITY. In MS Word, one can save documents that are openable only with a password. (When saving a document, use "save as" and then click "options.") This security feature carries over when the files are transferred via Docs To Go #6 Premium. To activate this feature on my Palm, I need simply to tap on the "Options" tab in the upper menu bar on my screen, followed by "Security," and then "Hide Records."
The second essential feature is Docs To Go #6's ability to save documents in NATIVE MS WORD format - which means that the file can be opened directly in MS Word! I can now save a document on my Palm's SD card - and then open it straight away on my PC in Word - without having to sync my Palm using Docs To Go before hand. This enables me to work remotely on my Palm (using my ultra-portable Stowaway Palm keyboard) and then open, edit and print the document on any computer that has MS Word. (To facilitate this, I carry a USB SD Card reader with me, which is plug-and-play for all Windows XP computers.)
Since a Word file is much larger than a Palm Memo file, this allows me to take notes in a long meeting - which I can then edit on my PC and distribute almost immediately to my other team members via email! (Before Docs To Go #6 Premium, I would take notes in Memo, and then cut-and-paste the text into a Word document - after I had transferred the Memo file to my home PC by syncing. What a pain!) Also, taking notes during a meeting using a Palm + keyboard is still kind of cool - whereas doing the same using a laptop isn't even close!
As another useful tool, I've also installed the latest version of BtPrint from ISComplete on my Palm, which allows me to print wirelessly to the infrared (IR) or Bluetooth (Bt) capable printers available to me at my home and in my office. MS Word documents printed via BtPrint look almost letter quality. For work, since my new company wouldn't provide me with a desktop printer, I went ahead and purchased a very used HP 990 cxi (which has IR) - along with a hardly used Bluetooth print adapter - both from eBay, which put me into business very inexpensively.
(As a final pair of tips, if you search very carefully using Google, you can even find the HP website which will send you a print driver disc for $10, which makes trying to bypass your company's firewall to download the software unnecessary. I've also installed PrintBoy 6.0 available from Bachmann software on my Palm which will print my To Do list -- by category -- which makes me look super-organized! Hey, in times like these, it's important to have every possible advantage, right?)
With the Security and Native MS file saving capabilities of Docs To Go #6 Premium, my Palm is even more indispensable than ever. This is one program I definitely couldn't do without! Why should you?

I bought this game and installed it quickly and easily. I got through the first few tasks when it crashed. That happens, so I started the game up again and it crashed in the same exact spot. Same thing the third time. I'm on a MacBook Pro that has no problem playing more demanding games like the Sims 3. Its not a memory issue since I keep all my media on an external drive.

Nowhere in this product's description can I find specifically what this product will upgrade from, and nowhere can I find any way to ask the question. Yes it upgrades from CS3 but Creative Suite what: CS3 Web Premium, CS3 Standard, CS3 Master Suite, CS3 Photoshop, CS3 Illustrator, CS3 Fireworks. Does it upgrade from all of them and if so, why not include it in the description? This is ultra frustrating.... Amazon really needs to make it easier to ask questions. This is why I use ebay more than Amazon. There's a means of getting and receiving questions. If I don't get answers on ebay, I just don't bid.....
Sooo, based on a poor description, I would like to rate this product with 0 stars. However, I cannot do that. Sooo, I will rate it as low as I possibly can in hopes that I will get someone's attention.

Item was listed as "CD", I got FLOPPY DISKS! I CAN'T USE FLOPPY DISKS! I beleive item was liSted as excelent shape, IT WAS MISSING ONE OF THE TEN FLOPPY DISKS! I think I'll stick to ebay for now on!
