(More customer reviews)I am a professional marketing manager, and this product was a great disappointment. We purchased it because of the great reviews, but I found it to be very cumbersome. The entire program is created in some sort of Web design software, and your documents are formatted in HTML. If you do not like the plain-jane layout that it offers you, YOU MUST GO IN AND EDIT THE HTML CODE to change it. In addition, the entire program was designed around marketing PRODUCTS so if you have a service based industry, or combination, you will spend great amounts of time deleting and adding categories. I finally gave up on the program and transferred everything over to Word. The only thing good about this software is the samples it provides, which I could have obtained free from a textbook. I wish I had my money back.

(More customer reviews)I can't say enough about Marketing Plan Pro powered by Duct Tape. I used the old version for a marketing plan and it was more about stats and measurements.
The new version adds the element of activity, which is really the missing ingredient this software needed. Another improvement is that it offers three levels...a short version, a basic version, and a detailed one. So whether you're a big picture or detailed person or somewhere in between, this software works just fine.
Finally, the audio from John Jantsch really provides more good direction for the user than on the old version. Versions aside, it's easy to see a business flourishing by just following the steps outlined. I highly recommend this planning tool.

I've sweated through a number of them for my own businesses and those of my clients. Business plans are time consuming and costly, and really kind of a pain in the neck...until now. I'm using Business Plan Pro Premier version to write my latest plan. I wish I'd started using it years ago, I'd have fewer gray hairs.
This software provides more than 500 sample business plans so I don't have to start from scratch. I can find a similar business and use that as my guide to get started. One headache gone.
The software guides me through step by step asking relevant questions in easily understandable language. And the navigation is simple and intuitive. Another headache gone.
The financial features are terrific. I enter information step by step and magically I get a spreadsheet and even charts detailing my projections. I don't have to struggle trying to remember how to create a chart in Excel. Very cool! The cash flow features are awesome--and remember, I work with cash flow everyday for a variety of businesses in a variety of industries. Nothing is more important than cash flow!

Ditto for business cards, bookkeeping software, etc. Fortunately Palo Alto Software has a 60 day money back guarantee. I'm returning it and getting my money back. Fast.

The new user interface in Version 11 has made it much easier to keep my business plan upt to date. I especially like that it gives you an estimate on how long each of the steps should take. It makes the whole process less daunting.
I read one of the reviews about the Tech Support at Palo Alto Software, and that made me want to post this message. I have had to call tech support in the past and they have been really good at helping me troubleshoot the issues I have come up with. I had a problem similar to the other poster in an older version, where it looked like nothing was typing into the program, and all my menus were blank. Tech Support help me find that this issue was caused by a high contrast window setting on my PC, and not something in the software. Changing my desktop appearance resolved the issue.
