Author Tom Zordani captures the common sense approach to managing finances, family, and a love for God like no one from the current generation ever has. Fortunately, for Tom he had help from a member of the "Greatest Generation." The generation that built this country, and crushed evil doers like Hitler and Tojo. The generation that paid cash for items that they could afford, and saved for items that they couldn't. A generation that was not bogged down with political correctness, and lazy bums sitting around collecting government hand outs. I had the distinct privilege of growing up next door to Tom's inspiration for this book, his Grandfather Don. Don, like most hard working men from his generation, my Grandparents included, worked hard, grew their own produce, lived by the Golden Rule, and didn't expect to be taken care of by the government. When my Dad, who is 80 years old read through the book, he said, "I have been doing this stuff for the last 60 years, good for Tom." So although the subject matter in this book to some is not new, for most people it is very hard to follow. The good news is, Tom's book makes it easy. It's hard to follow without this book, because from a very early age we are bombarded daily with commercials for credit cards, same as cash deals, no money down loans, reverse mortgages, etc...the list goes on and on. Now start taking God out of everything and declare war on Christians, and you come to a place I like to call, 2010. When was the last commercial you saw that suggested you have faith in God, Tithe, and pay cash for your next appliance? I don't think this commercial exists, at least I have never seen it. It took guts for Tom to write this book, because there are a lot of people who won't read it due to their belief system. Or what I like to call their lack of belief system. For me personally I never fully understood tithing until I read this book. Like a lot of Catholics, I would sit through the Priest's diatribe of asking for money, struggling to stay awake, looking at my watch. After seeing the specific citings from the old and new testaments it became crystal clear to me that you really do "Reap what you Sow," and God wants you to tithe. Tom is living proof that the steps outlined in his book work! I am proud of Tom and what he has accomplished, and I can't wait to read his next book.
