F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate Review

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate

Lately, the are a number of novels sporting ROBERT LUDLUM's name up front - yet they are ghostwritten by in-stable-writers of his publisher. A good effort in their part, yet, of course, they feel nothing like a LUDLUM's novel.
SIERRA, the legal owner of the FEAR franchise, is putting out this official (stand alone) expansion - whilst, MONOLITH, the original team that actually created FEAR, has announced its own upcoming expansion named PROJECT ORIGIN.
As with ghostwritten books, the in-house elves do not feel confident to create anything new and instead take baby-steps around the original story. Thus, the PERSEUS MANDATE is actually the same story as the original FEAR - seen from the perspective of a different F.E.A.R. agent on a timeline that runs parallel to the original.
To make this idea more palatable, a new set of weapons and gadgets are available (you will love the UV scope that helps targeting in foggy rooms) and the set of enemies is refreshed with some new additions. Paxton Fettel, the original villain gets replaced by, well, Perseus (whose Mandate we are concerned with), Alma (the scary little grungy girl) only makes fleeing appearances - and Shade fits the shoes of the scariest spectral beast around.
The graphics, although somewhat improved, do not veer far from the original - which may not be a bad thing, since they were quite good, yet somewhat dated today. What has clearly improved is the sound: PERSEUS MANDATE may not be as visually scary as the original but it sure is aurally scary!
All in all, a slightly improved game with a clearly weaker story.
The cookie-cutter at work...

Blair Witch Episode 2: Coffin Rock 1886 Review

Like the movie, not nearly as good as the first one. If you're in to puzzle solving more than killing and monsters, this is not the game for you. Volume II is easy, way to short (took me about a day to finish), not very scarry, and pretty predictable. I think there are more cinemagraphic sequences than actual playing! I played Volume I and absolutely loved it. After playing Volume II, I'm debating on whether or not to spend the money on Volume III. If you're really into the whole Blair Witch thing, it might be worth it. If you're looking for a good puzzle game, try something else.

Blair Witch Volume Three is an excellent game.First of all its graphs are so well.It has writen with Nocturne Motor like the previous ones , the clothes in the game gives the player that they are real clothes also the lighting and colors are wonderful. Then the sound fx are so realistic and based on enviromental sounds. Besides the atmosphere is very powerful it takes the gamer inside the game , you play like you are in the game. Also the characters are well designed , but the most impressive features are the 3D effects in the game , for example the pointer that shaped as pentegram , you can see movings inside the laser pointers while you way it to your screen.Besides the playing of the game is not too hard , it is based on spell and weapon based combat style. The story is well written it goes so fastly and understandable .Everything in this game is wonderful.I recommend The Blair Witch Volume Three for everyone.

Resident Evil 5 Review

Resident Evil 5

I had a PS3 briefly and RE5 was one of the games I really liked on it, but I think the PC version is the best. Any PC gamer will know there is just no comparison with the better accuracy you get with a mouse and keyboard versus a gamepad. Much more precise shooting, this is especially evident in the fast paced mercenaries mode. The game overall is pretty fun but my one complaint is that the story mode is a little short, compared to RE4 at least. Though the mercenaries mode hugely makes up for it with replay value (unlike older RE titles where I would only replay once in a blue moon). Its intense, addictive and incredibly fun - one of the best additions and modes to RE. Nothing like getting attacked by hordes of zombies and having a huge arsenal of weapons to fend them off..! Also in the PC version they added a new No Mercy mode with even larger swarms and it is absolutely nuts. Mercenaries is a blast and a MUST PLAY for all RE fans. Finally, the graphics look slightly better than the console version. You can make out a bit more detail in the PC version and it sure looks pretty. All in all I will say RE5 is right up there with RE2 and 4 as my favorites in the series. There seems to be a lot of negative reviews out there because the old RE survival horror style was abandoned. But I think the reverse would happen if they continued the same formula, there would be the "seen it, done that before" complaints. Personally I lovedd the new fresh direction RE4 took and RE5 just builds on that with more enemies and weapon upgrades.
