I have IMAGINE FASHION DESIGNER pc game and love it. This game highly reminds me of the tv show 'Project Runway' it gives the player a chance to be creative and let the imagination flow. This game and those like it are good for all ages.

Space Colony Review

Space Colony
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Space Colony will probably satisfy your unquenched thirst for that abandoned game. It's at least quite similar to what I imagined Simsville would be and it's described as a "blend between the sims and sim city, in space" in game and "a cross between a classic builder such as Stronghold™ or Caesar3™ and a people sim such as The Sims" on the firefly studios website. I find it a mix of all three (and more) - which leads to incredible awesomeness and fun galore!
There are 4 modes of play:
1) The excellent (but too short!) campaign (in game its under the button "play space colony"
2) Galaxy Mode - which allows you to play scenarios in easy, normal or hard mode (depending) on different planets. Lot's of things to do here! Some very challenging scenarios.
3) Sandbox Mode - you choose the planet and what you want to do. Part of the beauty of Space Colony is that there are so many choices of what to focus on such as creating a tourism empire, taking control of bug infested planets, or a titanium scavenging empire (just to name a few).
4) User Created Scenarios - The gane comes with the ability to make your own scenarios, and to download ones made by others. Way cool!
There are several areas where space colony really shines. One of them is the characters - their personalities, voices, wants, abilities - in general their uniqueness. Each character has a very distinct look, accompanied by great graphics, great voices, and a DISTINCT personality. The psychiatrist's report and other crew members opinions can give you an idea. Some are suited for slow moving high intellect jobs while others are energy bunnies. Some love to drink while others just want to gaze at the stars. Lots of fun buildings are availible in order to satisfy these needs - jacuzzis, observatories, restaurants, bars etc. But the best way to learn your characters is by watching & listening to them - like Tammy the white trash alcoholic, Candy the bubbly air head shopaholic or Nikolas the mentally unstable russian subatomic weapon lover. Much like the sims, you can develop relationships between them (friendship and love) and some colonists naturally dislike others. This causes disharmony in the base though, so a nice chat in one of the seating areas is a good idea from time to time.
The walking path system of the characters is highly intelligent and i have yet to see a person get stuck or take the long way around when the shortest route is right in front of them. The music is GROOVY with some seriously diggy tunes and the possibility to import your own mp3s into the game. The graphics are colorful and cute - although I wish an ability to zoom in and out had been added, since sometimes I would love to see close ups of my characters.
But how can you gripe when a game is this good? Not only have they successfully managed to balance micromanagement, tycoon, sims, action (you can attack and defend depending on the mission) and sim city aspects of the game but they've done it with style, humour and personality. Lot's of fun!

Baseball Mogul 2008 Review

Baseball Mogul 2008
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For those that are strategically and statistically-inclined, you are going to enjoy this game. It allows you to run a Major League baseball team, like an owner, general manager, and manager, all rolled into one, with control over roster personnel, trades, salary negotiations, lineups, etc. Moreover, you can choose to run any team at any time in baseball history (at least going back to 1901), with an additional option for control of in-game strategy, if you so choose. If you are more inclined to the grad scheme of running a team, and not individual game play, likewise, you can play your team in simulation mode for as long as you want (including multiple seasons).
One of the best ways to detect a video game's progression is its continual improvements. The first Baseball Moguls typically had problems with minor league player development, salaries, and drafts (which in the older versions were always after the season). No more. In the 2008 version, your drafts are held during the season in June, as the real ones are, and your minor league player development is dependent on not just length of time playing at a certain level before promotion, but also the amount of money you organizationally spend on your minor league teams.
Another improvement is the historically-accurate variation of stadium fences, seat numbers, etc., of individual stadiums, including the switchover to new stadiums for individual teams. So, if you are managing the Houston Astros in 1999, your next season will automatically transfer your home stadium over to Minute Maid Park. This is a drastic change from the old Astro Dome. In addition, you also possess the ability to manipulate and/or cheat by putting the game in Commissioner Mode and skewing league revenue sharing, team salaries, player/pitcher skills, etc., as well as control your difficulty level of play (from the easy fan to more difficult mogul setting).
All in all, this is a nice antidote to the graphics-oriented video baseball games that are more worried about visual realism of someone's slide than the real variables that determine an outcome of a game. If you are an aspiring baseball fan with a love for the nuances of the game, BM 2008 is for you.

Ranch Rush Review

The game overall is a fun game because I have played it online before. I wish I had been warned that there was going to be potential problems operating the game on my computer. If you don't have the right operating software, sound cards, video card the game will not display properly. I can see and hear the game perfectly, but I can't read any of the text on the game; therefore, I have a game I can play but can't read. Not to mention the fact that on my new computer I will not be able to install it all and it is too late to return it.

Quicken WillMaker Plus 2011 Review

Quicken WillMaker Plus 2011
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This program contains some excellent resources for estate and end-of-life planning and could save you considerable money in legal costs. I have some experience in this field from the professional end, and I know that simple wills can be a lucrative proposition for attorneys. Quite often, it's a simple matter of plugging in the names of the beneficiaries and printing them off. No reason to pay an attorney to do this if you can do it yourself. (That said, if your situation is complicated, you need to hire the professional. Better that you spend the money now than leave your grieving family to work it out after you die.)
I have Windows Vista, and it installed painlessly. I had no trouble with launch, answered its questions to see what documents it recommended for me and drew up at first a simple will--leaving everything to my husband or, if he predeceases me, my son; dividing my properly unevenly among my family if my son also does not survive me. The only hassle here is in the uneven division. It says it does the math for you, but that's not exactly true--it totals it, yes, but you still need to be able to work out that so-and-so gets 1/9th while somebody else gets 1/6th. It's probably a whole lot easier if you divide it evenly, but there are some in my family who need more and some in my family who deserve more. Fortunately, I can still manage my basic math. The will it produced in this case was just fine. Too, the program offers good information in its sidebars and provides easy access to usage guides online. (It even prompted me to name a guardian for my dog--a nice touch.)
When I was finished, it asked me if I would like to produce the same will for my husband--a nice feature. I didn't have to go through the process a second time.
After that, I went back to make things more complicated by leaving specific bequests--handy if you want your Aunt Sally's china to pass to cousin Gertrude. It performed well here, too.
Since I was testing this product for Vine, I also poked at some of the other documents provided. It's really comprehensive, from direction for somebody taking care of your elderly relatives to authorization for somebody to take your child out of the country, from instructions for your housesitter to a "notice to put name on do not call list", there's a whole suite of useful documents in here, all very thoroughly explained and simple to use and print off. Moreover, with internet connection, it promises to offer any legal updates necessary to keep me up to date legally through the year.
Along with this package comes a free copy of Your Little Legal Companion: Helpful Advice for Life's Big Events from NOLO. I have nothing but respect for NOLO, but their definition of "legal" is pretty loose here. There's some good legal advice, to be sure, but at a random page opening (p. 151), I see the following tips (for travel): (1) contact your embassy in case of trouble; (2) bring toilet paper; (3) send postcards; (4) be careful with the food and bring Pepto Bismal; (5) get last minute information on U.S. international travel advisory and (6) don't worry that your dog will hold a grudge against you for being gone. This may all be good advice, but not much of it is legal. The book is full of this kind of thing. It's an entertaining read, but pretty light on law.
It also included a free download of Nolo's Encyclopedia of Everyday Law: Answers to Your Most Frequently Asked Legal Questions. Updated in 2008 (at least, the copy I downloaded), this book does give a pretty comprehensive overview of the law and some good, common sense suggestions for getting by in legally challenging environments: buying or selling a house; getting along with your neighbors, landlord or tenants; operating effectively when working for yourself or others; filing patents, etc. This book is a good added value, even if it is a digital copy, and it manages to remain highly readable even in discussing the law.
Overall, I think this package is a very good value and likely to be quite useful to individuals who want to draw up some of their own legal documents. You'll still need to follow some formalities on your own (for instance, my state requires two witnesses and a notary public for many legal documents), but you may save considerable money over attorneys fees, and if your needs are simple that's worth it in itself. The additional books are a nice touch, even if one of them is pretty lightweight legally.
