I purchased this product several years ago to manage my own recipe collection, and I am still using it. Cut-and-paste import assistant is timesaving for entering recipes copied from the internet or sent via email; typing recipes into the program can be time-consuming but works well enough. Scaling is good but you have to remember to reset it back before you forget, because it'll save your new setting and not remember the original. Lots of space for freehand notes, serving recommendations, etc.
Cons: It doesn't have nearly enough "recognized" ingredients; I seldom bother with its nutritional analysis features because, for every recipe I enter, there are at LEAST two basic ingredients it doesn't recognize and this throws everything off. One can enter info to "teach" it about new ingredients, but that takes time. I don't like the preconstructed print layouts; they're not well laid out to be visually appealing or resemble "real" cookbook pages, and difficult to adjust unless one has had some training in programming design.
Pros: Print layouts are good enough for printing a single-use copy to take to the kitchen. Scrawl your notes on the printed page, enter notes and any changes into program once you're done, and print out your recipe anew next time you need it...nice! Only had to deal with one glitch, and it seems to be inherent in my copy rather than an installation problem; the "My Categories" feature just doesn't work. I've moved it through three computers now, each with a different version of a Windows OS, and it seems to run identically on each. It's a minor thing.
My most recent system is XP, and as with many older programs, MC6.0 is designed for a much smaller screen resolution; it's shrinking and getting sort of hard to read on a modern laptop screen. It's probably time to get a more recent version. For the price, and if you're running a computer dating from around the time this was originally released, this is a decent choice for recipe management.
