Been using Quicken for years, and this is by far the worst version ever. On my 2GHz PC I can see the screen redrawing because of all the fancy stuff they are trying to do with the interface - stuff that BTW adds little value to the overall application. It's a total dog!
I'd stick with the 2006 version if I had the opportunity to go back. Unfortunately now that I've upgraded I believe I'm stuck.

I've used Quicken for 15yrs+, buy every major upgrade. But this one has no new significant features, it adveritses some, but they don't stand out. I think there might be some extension of current features, but it's not changed my organization or advanced my reporting or insight in any new ways. I would not buy this particular upgrade had I known how insignificant this upgrade is for current users. I gave three stars because overall Quicken is still a GREAT product, just a useless upgrade for current users.

I have been using Quicken for 13 years. Although I was unhappy with the Quicken 2003 (to which I had upgraded from Quicken 2000) largely because of the crowding of the register to the point where it could not be read easily at least THAT version functioned. The new Quicken 2004 upgrade is FULL OF BUGS. Hidden accounts randomly reappear and there is no way to get rid of them. Popups advertising Intuit products interrupt one's work constantly and cannot be removed. The stock market quotes' download does not function at all. Intuit's technical support has been moved to India and Intuit has failed to inform and train that staff about the bugs. They have not issued patches or revised software. [They're still "working on it", three months after discovery of the bugs in August.] I lost 13 years of data in five separate databases and despite three backups, could not retrieve it because the backups were corrupted by the new buggy software. Intuit's President's office at Intuit has been nasty and unsympathetic. The best advice I have is: DON'T buy this product at this time. It's very dangerous to your database(s).

Our church recently purchased this software to manage our church membership data and contribution data. We have been VERY disappointed with this product.
Several of the features promised do not function at all. The custom filter features do not work at all - you cannot print a report of just your "members" for example, or find all couples with children.
Attempting to export data or print reports is a hit or miss proposition. Sometimes the program will respond to the options you have selected, sometimes it seems to ignore the selected options and do totally its own thing. Sometimes it doesn't give you any of your data at all.
The features that do "work" are so full of errors and bugs that it makes it a challenge to work with, much less a program I trust to safely store all of the data we want to enter into it. We have consistently encountered "bugs" both large and small. Dialog boxes that do not work. Check boxes that do not appear when checked. "Address violation" errors that freeze the program and require a computer restart, loosing any recently entered data.
This program contains a "Contributions at Home" portion that allows a financial secretary to enter the data from their home computer and then update the main database. This section of the program does not reliably save the data entered, and to give you an idea, it creates a fatal error anytime you open the "funds" section of this module (A crucial part of this "convenient" feature).
We have found that while some of the program does work it is not enough to offset the frustration of the things that do not work. In addition to the frustrations of the program itself, the Customer Service and support has been minimally helpful at best. I am a computer literate indiviaul, these errors and problems are NOT simply operator error or lack of understanding.
If the program actually, successfully executed all of the features it tries to offer it would be a great program. However, until this company learns to create software that is functional, I would strongly recommend that you AVOID THIS PROGRAM. It does not come even CLOSE to doing what it says it does.

This program is supposed to produce reports itemizing vendor expenses and tenant income. There seemed to be a problem when I tried to load the program on Windows XL and again with Vista. I could never get this program to produce any reports for expenses or income. I tried to get software support online. After sending me a patch that did not work, all subsequent e-mails were ignored. This is terrible product with terrible customer service and should be avoided!! It was a complete waste of my money!

I've been using various versions of this software since 1999 and generally upgrade every 2 or 3 years. I hadn't planned an upgrade but did so to better accommodate an upgrade from XP Win 7 (Win 7 is worth the trouble and expense!) When the disk arrived, it was cracked (shipping problem, not Peachtree.) I had next to no trouble getting them to give me a link to a download so I could use the product without waiting for a new disk. I had no trouble with the download and no problem moving files from Peachtree Complete 2008. I moved four companies and everything works very well. The employees (two) were easy to understand and registration was a snap. A MAJOR benefit to me is being able to keep multiple companies open at the same time. As usual, the best price and service were at Amazon. This review sounds like it was written by an employee but it wasn't--it's just a bullet-proof product that performs very well and performs flawlessly with Win 7--worth the price.

I can't believe I paid money for this junk. Aside from the general bugginess, the unnecessary complexity of its model and the poor UI, this program simply cannot handle basic transactions that you would expect it to.
For example, if you have a typical mortgage payment comprising principal, interest and property tax escrow, there is no automated way to split the payment into those categories for tracking: you must do it yourself each time a payment is made. Also, if you make capital improvements to your property, there is no way to depreciate them -- and even if you do create a "liability account" manually, there is no way to import that information into TurboTax. Additionally, there is no way to map tenants' deposit money to transactions in a cash account: Quicken automatically puts the money into a liability account which cannot be mapped to an actual bank account.
In short: a total joke. Even worse, there is no real competition for managing the financial side of rental properties. Mint.com (owned by the same company) and all the rest are either focused on consumer finances or don't automatically download information from your bank. My advice is to get a spreadsheet and do it yourself.
